Business Ideas

Post by midnitesun » Tue, 13 Apr 2010 9:25 pm

Hi, I wish to seek feedback, comments and ideas. I have some small business ideas for those who are looking to start food business in Singapore hdb stall/market. I have been involved in the bakery and soya bean business for a long time and due to my business structure, I could not work on fixed hours in fixed locations. As such, I am willing to share expertise, JV with all who are keen to look into the Bakery and Soya Bean business. The profit is very good and my business plan does not requires much capital and can be operated with minimal manpower. Kindly reply on this forum and I will be happy to answer all questions.
when things look down, try looking UP !!

And, like most low investment, sure to win, business ideas, the ideal will be sold to every tom, dick & harry and within 6 months 3 out of every 7 small heartland shops will have a business selling the stuff until they are practially giving it away until they all go broke. Kind of like the Bubble Tea craze several years ago, or the myriad of Mobile phone shops or hair salons. Good Luck. You are gonna need it.

Every business is almost as easy to begin with and to fail. Air con servicing is just as easy to start however if Natural cool is to think this way, there won't be any more natural cool. Natural cool make it big during recession when the sentiments are real bad. I have to admit such cases are rare. Often then not, it is not the business that matters, it is the people running it that matters most. You cannot expect different results by doing the same thing as what others are doing.

F&B is a great business in Singapore. Especially snacks. Sure there are success like Botak Jones and failures like bubble tea. But once you hit the wave, you can start planning for retirement. Look at Roti Boy. Even though it closed down, I think the owner definitely made a big pile. :P

Actually, he lost a pile. He did well in Malaysia but bombed here because he couldn't compete with Breadtalk. Same scenario. You need to be the 1st with the idea AND to keep making it better and competitive so as to keep your hard won market share. This is what MS didn't do with IE. They didn't listen too well on the "Keeping making it better" part and that's why FireFox now has a 24% market share. However, even FireFox is starting to lose some market share to Google's Chrome. So, you can never just rest on your laurels.

Roti boy is still in IMM if I'm not wrong. There are bound to be failures in businesses. Everyday there are so many people registering new businesses, we cannot expect all to do well. Alot depends on the founders' vision and attitude.

Seems usedbooksg is trying to spam the board with multiple nicks/IP addys.
Unfortunately, we are already aware of it and watching.

The clown is tying to build links for SEO's. If they are all one line responses, with little content, from the same IP, I'd say it's a spammer and BOOM

SE, he's pretty clever in that he's using two different IP addys. Probably his office and his home or somesuch. Anyway, Plavt says he deleted 3 last night as well, so I reckon he's history.
Are you in Houston now? What is it, around 7:40 in the morning?
