Re: Good Coffee in Singapore?
We bought a coffee machine when we moved to UK and it came with us to Singapore. Not those silly pod machines, a real bean to cup machine. Worth the investment.

Sort of yes and no. Coffee in the USA (other than the real cheap stuff) runs $9 to $12 US per pound at a grocer with good coffee supplies, as much as USD 20 per pound at a specialty store.AussieMumma wrote:Might have to start charging. Agree, though... you can't really get the cheaper stuff.
I used to shop here... best prices, I thought, and a very good selection of coffees.

Re: Good Coffee in Singapore?
No cheap beans here but still the prices are a bit more than I would expect back home and also in the UK (which didn’t have that many options - coffee so bad there). Will check out the link thanks!
Re: Good Coffee in Singapore?
I've picked up a taste for kopi-c kosong (coffee with evaporated milk and no sugar). I'd never drink it at home, but somehow it makes sense in a hawker centre. It helps me recover from that tired, hazy feeling like nothing else can.
Anyway, I recommend Lam Yeo Coffee Powder Factory (328 Balastier Road). They have beans from all over the world: Sumatra, El Salvador, Kenya, Jamaica ('Blue Mountain'), etc, at a decent price. I have them ground and use an AeroPress at home.
As for cafes, I live near Little India and there seems to be lots of good ones around Rangoon Road (Jewel, Old Hen) and Lavender (Chye Seng Huat Hardware).

Re: Good Coffee in Singapore?
On a side note.. not all coffee shops do coffee the same. Any "safe"/good coffee to recommend? I realised that coffees in Aperia Mall generally do not dissapoint if you are in the central area as I always go there for lunch. Can't seeem to find any discouraging ones among the shops xD

Re: Good Coffee in Singapore?
There's this hipster coffee shop called huggs in Changi Business Park next to the cisco office which makes pretty good coffee. not a fancy cafe or anything, mostly a pick up and go place.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late
