What is it with adding evap/condensed milk to coffee here?
I just can't get used to it. On the other hand 'real' coffee a bit like Taiwan costs a fortune. Is it possible to get a good Italian coffee for less than S$3 ?
If so, please tell me where as I'm getting severe withdrawl symptoms.

Do you see a lot of cow pastures?

It's a local adaptation, if it's not for you, there are plenty of options.

No, it's KOPI... and properly made, it's the kind of coffee that strips paint off old furniture... a Singaporean specialty. There are variants... Kopi O and Kopi C.
Regular coffee is 'Nescafe'. This is very common throughout Asia... real kick ass coffee with enough caffeine to keep you awake well into next week... or 'Nescafe'... which is sometimes actually brewed coffee.
You want American type coffee? Go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean.

Truer words were never spoken since 'Kopi' is Bahasa Malay for coffee. I think if the OP wants a good Italian coffee for less than $3 they should make it at home. That would be a tall order in this town.

the Op said "italian coffee", well a 'coffee' in Italy it's an espresso
so surely not the american style

and btw Starbucks and similar shop have espresso, so your advice is still a good one

not in singapore...or as road.not.taken said...make it at home...
try kith or highlander..they're cheaper than starbucks..or coffee bean..and better..thats 3.80 still...

u can order kopi-o for 80cents and get creamer+sugar from mac for free

Coffee from Starbucks? are you kidding me? A large cup of hot milk that an expresso walked over. I know what good Italian coffee tastes like as I have lived in Italy, Spain & Portugal.
Yes, I'm talking about Italian style coffee. Kopi I admit takes some getting used to. I try it some more and see how it goes, meanwhile my search fora decent Doppio Macchiato will carry on.
now as for home that will be sorted out next month as the coffee machien is on its way with the shipping. Just need to source some Illy coffee beans.
Cheers for the stuff about Kopi.
Oh btw, what is Kopi Si again?

Try Sketches for your Illy Coffee beans. I know that they serve it there but I'd only go there for the coffee and I don't drink coffee. What I mean is, the service sucks and I'll never go there again. BUT. You are looking for Italian Coffee so there you are. Maybe you can buy the beans directly from him (I think I saw them for sale). It's down on Robertson Walk on Robertson Quay.
