I went for a D300s with a 18-200 lens. Still reading through the manual to get a hang of the basic functionality though, lol.
Woo nice.. 18-200. Awesome lens. Pretty much all you need!

Awesome mate, I shall see you on the next meet up.

Cheers mate.
Thanks mate. Yep - I wanted a versatile lens, and the 18-200 fit the bill. =)

Catch you at the next meetup.

Hi all,

I would like to join on the 17th. I just recently bought a Canon EOS 450D and I got the 18-200mm... I am still practicing and learning how to handle it properly, but only practice makes perfect, right?

I guess for sunset shots a tripod would be useful? I only have this tiny one that came for free when I bought the camera, it's like half a meter high... but i guess I'll bring that along too?

so, how do I recognize you guys?

cheers,
we know what we are, but know not what we may be

cheers,

Firstly, congratulations on your DSLR purchase. And an awesome lens too!

Tripod is useful when capturing sunset shots, especially when light is not to our advantage.

As for recognising, I think you will be able to find a group of photographers at the meeting point.

Thus,

Just dial me on my mobile number should you have difficulty locating us.

Once again. welcome to the Expats Photography Group guys, it's your participation that keeps the group runnin'

Things to take note:

We will be walking around the island, so comfy foot wear's advisable.

I will be sharing some tips on camera handling and controlling your camera using aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Three elements which form the triangle, to a decent image, if not awesome.

Feel free to share any knowledge and tips.

Thanks again guys, and I'll see you guys soon.

Any concerns or enquiries, PM me directly.

Cheers.

Hans (Organiser, Expats Photography Group)

Just to confirm, this outing is still on, right? My schedule cleared up.

Also, I invited a newbie photographer. He just bought a 500D so rejoice, olivier!
