Jurong Bird-park... Lazarus and pigeon heaven!

Post by ozchick » Wed, 07 Apr 2010 2:26 pm

Had been putting off going there cos I'm not into birds in cages. But I do love birds so I thought I'd go check it out.
Never seen so many pigeons! What a lark!
He he.... and the signs there are just classics:
"Except for Palm Cockatoos, Black Cockatoos are found only in Australia"
That one hurt my brain a bit.
Then there was:
"A pair of these cockatoos will not tolerate another pair of the same species in their breeding territory of approximately 12 square kilometres".
And how many of them were in that cage? Four. :?
But the winning sign was this one:
"The oriental pied hornbill became extinct in Singapore in 1855 but made a comeback in 1994".
I love these guys!!!!

Actually, ozchicky, the last one is the only one that DID make any sense.

The second sign was on a cage of 2 sets of gay cockortoos!

The first one, yeah, that one hurts a bit.

But the last one said they were extinct "in Singapore" not "on earth" until 1994 when obviously somebody made them comeback in a cage! :P

You forget, they think this is little China and this country actually thinks they are the centre and the whole earth revolves around them!

Saint, she just got sooo excited about getting her cookies off she forgot about going to another forum!

Oh yeah sorry! Between snake sightings at the condo and old age anything's possible....So how do I move this post across?
Speaking of moving. the guard came to move the snake and it wouldn't move. Never seen such an unmotivated snake in my life. No arching, no hissing...mm...very disappointing snake he was. Much more action at the bird-park!

No park needed. Ozchick should be more than enough for this alone, but I think it was not really a cooking trip.

Yeah, when I was a lot younger, I liked to park with lots of birds as well. Was a lot more limber and agile then though. :P
