So, we've all had a laugh at Singapore English . . . which for my money is still the best English spoken fluently in Asia (excluding the PIs)
Last night at dinner I saw this little gem . . .
Singapore English, taught at all professional language schools near you
(And: "All new
enrol students will enjoy 50% discount")

that's just the problem. people don't understand what people delusionally speak that they think is standard english (which in reality, really is some form of singlish).
having an accent is one thing--this is forgivable. speaking one language claiming it as the worldwide standard is another thing--this isn't forgivable.

I agree . . . but don't forget that this post started out as a bit of a dig at the sign itself.
Ok, I give up, what does
+1
mean? Is it a sign of agreement with the previous post? Who brought this into the forum . . . never seen it before . . .
. . . or is it Singlish for me too?

Would you believe nakatago started it!
Put it this way, your penchant for using "Word!" and this one:
all basically mean the same thing.

I don't like new things . . . Who is this nagasaki upstart anyway . . . a foreigner, no doubt.
Wouldn't have that in my day . . . probably a communist as well. Coming here and bringing in new things.
Won't have it . . . just won't have it
