Marital status Form4A LPR application + cover letter

Post by serve_the_servants » Tue, 30 Mar 2010 2:41 pm

After being a loyal follower of this forum for months, its time to jump in.

I have two questions for my LPR application, which will be submitted this week through SMC.

On Form4A, I have to fill out my marital status. Right now I have a girlfriend (is 'single' on form) in Singapore (she is student, not pr / citizen), but we will marry this summer.

In case the ICA starts checking my marital status at Room of Marriage in Singapore (where we marry) this summer, they may find out that I am married instead of single.

So do I need to make an additional note somewhere about this situation or just fill out my current status, single?

I want to insert a cover letter (not required) to accompany my application where I explain why I would like to go for PR and Singapore. Is this appropriate or not?

Many thanks for your advice! :)

You can send a cover letter if you desire. Whether it would have any bearing or not is another thing. However, you could use it to also tell them that you are planning on getting married in June, therefore covering the contingency in case they do not act expeditiously on your application. Good luck.

Thanks SMS, I inserted an additional note. If they smell fraud you are rejected on the spot
