Empty Nesters??

Postby Strong Eagle » Sun, 28 Mar 2010 12:54 pm

We're a couple of American expats... kids out of the house and long gone... we've met lots of good folks since being here... and many are younger and have children... in a different stage of life.

We'd like to get to know others in a situation similar to ours... perhaps meet for a drink or dinner and see where it goes in terms of building a friendship.

Drop me an email or PM if you might be interested.

Cheers.

I've been trying to impart that to my half-american sprog for their entire lives, but they are both still home! Okay, to be fare one's only 20 and still in a tertiary institution but the other makes more than I do and just turned 26! :-|

1/2 american - spot the problem! Do you charge the eldest board and lodging?

Yes. But it's still less than she could rent a room for elsewhere I have to admit. But, she's smart enough to realize that and abuses it wisely! Sometimes my principles and her being daddy's girl have head to head clashes but usually my principles win. Most of the time, anyway... :-|

My daughter was ready to head to Ft. Worth to start a new job so that she could buy the red convertible she had been lusting after. Nothing like a job 240 miles away to get them to move out.
