Any South Africans out there?

Postby JosieQ » Sun, 28 Mar 2010 10:59 am

Hi

I have recently moved to Singapore with work and am looking to meet a few fellow South Africans. I'm 29/F and would like to get together for a few after work drinks.

Let me know if you are keen for a cold one :D

Hi and Sanbonani
There is a South African society in Singapore which has regular meet-ups and events. You can find them on www.proteasingapore.com. Otherwise there are a couple of saffers lurking on the boards.
Definitely going to the quiz on Wed at Harry's if you're interested (other saffers should be there too)
Cheers
Kim

Hi Kim

Thanks for the heads up … Most appreciated. The link has been really helpful too.

Wednesday night sounds great. What time do things get started and where is Harry's?

Cheers
Lara

Its Harry's Bar at Boat Quay - very close to Raffles Place MRT - best to check out the website for directions or ask your colleagues. You need to come upstairs - the staff don't know what you're talking about when you ask them. I'll be there. Just ask the person at the door to point me out to you.
Cheers
Kim

Hi Kim,

is there space for another South African? I'm originally from Cape Town. Go Stormers! Sorry, had to do that.

Hi & welcome to Singapore

The quiz was last week, but there is a pub evening for the Protea's on Fri Night - I'll confirm the venue when I can find the email. A great way to meet some of the people on the island.

Stormers fan? Little tussle between them and Sharks on Sat morning (channel 447 on Starhub) Will be gleefully watching the Sharks get their way once again... (awesome watching the Stormers get nailed at Newlands!)

Cheers
Kim

Hi,
Sorry about getting your hopes up re the rugby - they only show games that involve Aus / NZ so the Sharks game is not being broadcast :(

On a brighter note, the pub evening is at Dubliner (29 Penang Road) on Fri 7 May at 7pm

Hope to see you there

That is so unfair getting my hopes up again. It's ok, I'll just have to get it streaming online.

I have to give this Friday a miss I am afraid, but will def be braggin here when the Stormers win.

If you're interested, there's a SA shop down Joo Chiat Rd which I've heard is very good for those feeling a little homesick.

Don't I know it - I'm like a kid in a candy shop :P There is another on the 2nd floor at Bukit Timah Plaza. They have some good value wines and will do a tasting - but best to call ahead for that one.
