Fleet Management!

Post by ksl » Fri, 26 Mar 2010 10:58 pm

I'm just playing around with some ideas of cheap communication and GPRS. I have found some very reasonable rates in Singapore, though they charge over the top on hardware and some do not have two way communication.

Does anyone know if skype can be utilised through a web based mapping system, to provide push talk communications.

Motorola have some special mobiles, incorporating digital network communications and wireless, which is well established in Singapore, though i am sure it can be done cheaper, than what is being offered, and it can be integrated with google maps, street maps or any web based mapping system.

Any communication guru would like to offer their thoughts on using skype for two way communication or another VOIP system, that could do it, I think the provider charges maybe a problem in Singapore and it appears to be monopoly service at the moment.

Perhaps this is what you need http://itgadgets.com.sg/index.php?productID=369. It's not as comprehensive but for simple fleet management, it should be sufficient.

It will need a SIM card to work.

Thank you that is handy and half the price of others I have seen, though I am also looking for wireless digital transmission too for push to talk communication.

The www.grid.net.sg provide two way comms, so looking for alternative providers and pricing.
