We get them in our apartment. I thought we'd be immune moving into a "newish" place - wrong! We found that they slip under the doors in between the gaps. Vacuum cleaner with hose attachment seems to work just fine.

...so, have you seen the movie Starship Troopers? Something we affectionately call Baygon: The Movie.

Try putting some moth balls on the 'covering' of the hole on your bathroom or kitchen floor. We use the ring type moth ball (sold in Fairprice) and I guess the smell stops roaches from coming up.

Are these really roaches? I thought that at least with the Thai fried goodies there are the water bugs (besides grasshoppers, cicadas, locusts, mantises, crickets etc.)

The ones in the photo are actually the large waterbugs and not roaches. Most of the roaches in Thailand aren't eaten but smoked instead!

However, you can eat the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches though and they are as big if not bigger than the waterbugs.

Grasshoppers gain so much as food if you start thinking of eating roaches.
