Which serviced apartment is good and children friendly?

Post by despagnac » Sat, 20 Mar 2010 12:42 am

Just about to make the move in May 2010, researching for serviced appartment in Singapore to stay for 1 month with 2 young children, so need a 2 bedroom appartment before we find a long term rental home.

Firstly I find them all very expensive, starting from 6000 cheapest and goes all the way up to 20000, anyone knows a good one but not so expensive?

Secondly, need to be children friendly as I need to keep my 3 year old son happy with large play ground and children friendly swimming pool.

leonie view is well priced

Iam in leonie view at leonie hill with 3yr and 2 year old but its perfect for us so far. The living area is very spacious and bedrooms are sizeable and cosy .Theres a kids pool but no specific child play ground.

I guess the additives of a spacious children's play ground would push the price on the higher end. 5 minutes walk to the buzzing orchard . Look them up and compare with what u ve already seen. A 2 bedroomed area should cost you slighlty less. You may need to talk to them and try to negotiate the figures online.

I've checked out 6-7 Serviced Apartment complexes in the areas I was interested in living in and the best one for kids seems to be Fraser Place (Robertson Walk) in Robertson Quay.

I live just 50-100 yards away in another building, but it's nowhere near as good for kids in terms of facilities.

Great World is also worth a look. They have an kids pool, indoor and outdoor play ground, a mall attached with a good grocery store and pretty easy public transportation to anyplace that you need to go.

I dont even know if inexpensive is an option.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the reply, you are right in that you don't have much inexpensive choices. They are all similar rates. I short listed Great world and Treetops, but then realised I maybe much better off to fly to Singapore first to arrange a long term rental first and then move the whole family over instead all of us staying at a Serviced Apartment. Has anyone done it this way before? any advise? I'm planning to confirm a condo within 1 week to 10 days, is that realistic or too ambitious?

You can always do a 1 mth lease - that will give you time to check out numerous condos and sign up for a long-term lease at the place of your choosing.

This is a great place for families. They have an indoor playground and a great swimming pool. Lots of famlies stay here so you also get to meet friends and your kids have someone to play with

Hi,

How is the interior of the apartments at Somerset at Cairnhill? Is there an oven, separate dryer, dishwasher? Nice bathrooms?

A friend of mine was there (Somerset)recently. It seems that some places had been renovated. She was in an older place. It was OK (the facilities are great for kids and nice location near Orchard Rd) but her room interior was old. Big building site nearby too, could be noisy at times. If expense is not an option I'd choose somewhere else. Great World City has a good reputation.
