Previously, I'm also have serious constipation problem. Sometimes, I'm only do 'big business' twice per week. Even when I really feel like doing 'big business', I have difficulty to pass motion. I eat vegetables and fruits everyday, but the problem still occurred. After my elder sister knew my constipation problem, she bought me a box of high-fiber wholesome beverage that contains a balanced mix of both insoluble and soluble fiber for me to consume. After consume for few days, I found that I can pass motion everyday easily. It is safe for people of all ages to consume even children. If you interested to know more, you can message me.

Try drinking 1 or 2 glasses of plain water immediately after you wake up in the morning. That really helps.

Psyllium husk (can get in Cold Storage with the natural/organic stuff). Dissolve one or two teaspoons in glass of water and drink straight down, then drink a little more water. Gets things moving!

I don't really find prunes help. However, I do find apples are very effective.
I also find that drinking the vitamin C tablets that can effervescent in water can help.

At least 2 litres of water every day is good. You can keep a track of it by carrying a water bottle with you and ensuring you fill it twice a day (and empty it twice a day of course). But you already said that you drink 'a lot' of water so this is just in case it is not at least 2 litres.

Exercise is important too. It does not have to be fast sports, but walking at least 30 minutes a day and probably better in the morning. Note, this does not mean walking to work etc but just walking for walkings sake at a moderate pace. It gets things moving!

Yoga is also good for constipation.

Good luck!
