Relocation

Post by andyj76 » Mon, 15 Mar 2010 10:02 am

Hi All,

After working in Thailand for the last 4 years as a teacher and freelance photographer. I am considering about relocating to Singapore for a better career within one of my interests.

I currently don't hold a University degree, but have a good record of portfolio with my work in teaching and photography.

I am 33 and from the UK, and would like to know how easy it would be for someone like me with a lot of experience and a good record could get a job in Singapore.

Andy

I think you would be expected to have a degree in the least, at least in education prior to teaching an audience.

Though your experience might supersede the expected requirements.

In different times, it probably wouldn't be a problem. Today? You can try but my best advice is to NOT burn any bridges as it could spell disaster. Unless you have the wherewithal to start your own company using the entrepass system, you are out of luck on the photography side.

With regards to teaching, unless you have a degree, I'm afraid you would not have too much luck in that regard either unless you can get into a private educational facility. Getting by MOM will be the problem more than getting the job offer.
