CD / Music that provides "Indie" music?

Post by Noroelle » Thu, 11 Mar 2010 10:12 pm

Hello There,

i wonder, if there are alternatives to That´s Music stores.
Not that they are bad, i´ve been there a couple of times and bought stuff, but i am looking for smaller, the not-so-shiny-mall-style of shops that have independent and non-chart music records.

If Muse and Placebo can make it to Singapore, i am sure there must be more of that music available here, and not only the big bands of that genre.

Thanks for any help

Regards

I was in the shopping centre opposite Funan (North Bridge Rd), think its called Advent and noticed some independent music stores on the top floor.

I've seen a lot of modern postpunk (editors, snow patrol, kaiser chiefs etc)at Grammaphone as well.

HMV should carry left-of-the-center artists too. The CDs are imported from the US though so they may be more expensive than expected. You could also try Borders in Wheelock place.

I still wished that there something like Amazon MP3 for Singapore (stupid georestrictions...)

Noroelle: The shop "Cat Socrats" has some local and Asian indie music CDs. Albums of local indie artists like "Aspidistrafly" can be found there. If you are interest I can bring you there after work. The boss is my good friend.
