Lost my FIN number - How to locate it? (RESOLVED)

Post by FaeLLe » Wed, 10 Mar 2010 12:20 am

Hello all,

Last time I was in Singapore I was there on a Student Pass.

Now I have received a job offer for which they are processing my EP. They are asking me for my FIN number.

I no longer have the Student Pass as I handed it over to the Immigration Officer on my final departure from Singapore.

What options do I have? How can I locate my FIN number??

Please help.

Hi,
Can you check if it is written there in your passport- The Student Visa Page ? Earlier for EP they used to write it on the Passport-Visa Stamping page. If you are not able to find it then you have to contact ICA and they would be able to help you.

Thanks

Not there in the passport.

Need to check up with ICA on their helpline what can be done. Sent them many emails as well.

Try looking on some of your school registration papers. It's usually used as a student's registration number.

Actually they issued their own registration number.

The uni tried looking it up on their systems as well and they said MOM returns no results when they searched with my passport number.

Anyway for my EP application I have given the number of my new passport , the last time I traveled to Singapore was on a diff passport number (old and now cancelled).

So do you think possibly I might get a new FIN?

I reckon it's possible, but honestly I don't know.

Found my FIN number by locating a copy of the Letter of Approval that was in my dad's email archive.

MOM forwarded my request to ICA who refused to help.

In my case I changed passport after completing studies here and was able to use the FIN with my new passport without any problems when applying for PR.

Yea that should be possible.
Just that in my case I did not have the FIN number in the first place.

Anyway I found it now.
