renting a flat

Post by gaurav101 » Mon, 08 Mar 2010 9:39 pm

hi,

im moving to singapore tomorrow and would like some tips on hot to look for a flat. Ive seen some websites and mostly they indicate that HDB's look to be crappy while condos seem to be really good but too expensive.

Im lookin for a 1 bedroom apartment hopefully near the Tanjong Pagar district. I dont mind travelling 30 minutes either and living away to make things cheaper.

Ideally i dont want to pay more than 1500 S$ though I can go upto as much as 2000 if I have to. I would like the flat to be fully furnished and rent to include bills and internet. Preferable there should be a gym and swimming pool too.

My questions:
1. IS it possible to get such a HDB in my range. If yes, where should I look.
2. Can I get a condo ( even a small one wud do ) in that money. Whats the best way to search for the same?

HDB don't have swimming pool and gym.

If you want to have these, only choice left is condo.

1 bedroom is not the easiest place to rent.

Somebody was renting out a room in a house, listed on craigslist Singapore.

Another way is you could get the local newspaper and look at Room to Let or Room for Rent listings... Sharing the apt/flat with others is not too bad actually.

a room in a condo or apartment fits your budget, I work in Tanjong Pagar as well, and I found a master room with attached toilet in Peal Bank apartment for 1500 per month, don't have gym nor pool facilities, but the location is nice...
