Housing in Singapore

Post by Francesca » Mon, 01 Mar 2010 9:03 pm

Hello there,

Together with my husband and my 3 yo. daughter we will be moving from Denmark to Singapore around next fall (Oct 2010).

I have never been to Singapore before, so no idea on areas, does anyone have any tips on where I should be looking for a flat to rent?

Ideally would be nice to have green areas/playgrounds nearby, but also close to shopping/restaurants and not too far from city centre. Too much to ask?

Also, any tips on schools? Well, it's kindergarten really :)

Thanks guys
Francesca

If you don't know Singapore that well I would recommend moving into a Serviced Apartment for a month (or two) and putting in the effort to get to know the city.

Once you see what's where and which places you prefer over others you'll feel much better about signing a 2-yr lease. :)

This kind of questions appear in this forum pretty frequently so you may want to start with browsing through relevant threads or use the search function. There are many nice places to stay. All depends on your preferences, work-school arrangements and your budget.
