Allergy Doctor

Post by sanca » Sat, 27 Feb 2010 2:53 am

Can anyone recommend me a Food Allergy Doctor? My daughter needs to be tested.
And does it is easy to get an Epi_pen there? And the cost? (around $110 in US) Thanks.

hi, not sure whether it's correct related issue, but last time I researched about the similar case for my baby
take a look at this site it may help http://www.foodallergysingapore.org/

I actually went to see specialist http://www.emenders.com/specialists/dr_lee_bee_wah.php at mount e medical, she was very nice to deal with, had skin prick allergy test for the baby and result was quick

BUT, it's pretty hard to book appointment since shes normally fully booked weeks in advance, but walk in is welcome, but waiting time can be 1-2 hours as I was told, that's why I did booked my appointment 3 weeks in advance with letting them know please inform when there's ccancellation..

regarding epipen, i think all depends on each case, you can always ask :)

Thanks you matthewmom. My daughter needs to be tested annually with the prick test. I will contact the doctor that you suggested.
And in her case she must carry an epipen.
Thanks for your help.

Hi there

The Epi pen is a similar price here. We always go to National University hospital either professor Hugo or Lynette Shek as they are highly recommended and have all the testing facilities in addition to a great food challenge program. They are specifically paediatric allergists and the place where we take our son whenever he has a reaction.

Cheers
Megan
