How many of you actually request to see the NRIC and title deed of the owner before moving in? Is this something that is mandatory and the agent /owner should show us or do we need to specifically request it?
Or can one safely assume that a stamped contract with the owners address and NRIC should be correct and he/she is indeed the owner. (i can't imagine that anyone would send a bogus contract for stamping -but then again stranger things have happened)

I am not sure whether it is mandatory but we always had some kind of proof delivered by the agents and typically it was a page from CPF mortgage record. There was the NRIC and the
property address specified there so we found it sufficient. And it was included without any request from our side so looked like a standard procedure.
