Job Market for entry-level positions in engineering

Post by anandg112 » Wed, 24 Feb 2010 1:38 am

I just got my EPEC approved and coming over next month to job hunt. I have a electrical engineering degree from a top 10 university in USA. How hard is it to land a position in technical sales or test/product engineering? I also want to break into the renewables industry...is this a big field in Singapore or a niche industry?

Yeah, I have had two internships, one in a research lab at my school and other one at a Fortune 500 company. Also does being fluent in mandarin help at all? I am asking this, because I have been taking mandarin for a year and consider myself at a intermediate level.

Not having any real experience is going to make it difficult but having a working knowledge of mandarin cannot hurt. Just don't get you hopes too high and ensure you leave yourself a backdoor.
