Work permits.

I have a friend that wants to stay in Singapore for a longer,however she has to get a work permit to stay longer i guessed or maybe student pass?
May i know if getting a work permit and she not going to work.is it a wrong thing?the permit is just for her to stay longer is it alright?

I think you can get a once-in-a-lifetime pass that allows you to enter the country to look for work, but apart from that you need to secure a job position before you will be granted an employment pass (the employer arranges the paperwork on your behalf).

Yea getting a work permit just for reasons of staying in SG and with no intent to work for that organization is not just wrong but illegal.

If you come under scrutiny and are asked to provide proof of employment such as pay slips, bank deposit statements then your friend is in big trouble. Avoid it.

You could just hop back home and take your changes with a visitor visa.
