sanitaryware and faucets shops

Post by nisheel » Sun, 21 Feb 2010 12:12 am

Hello

I wanted to change the faucets and showers in my bathrooms and kitchen. Which are the good malls or stores that have a range of choice where I can see brands like American Standard, Kohler, etc ?

Thanks in advance,
Nisheel

We re-did our kitchen a few years ago here and I hoofed all over Singapore looking for a good American or European made faucet. We figured we'd spend a bit more on the faucet since it is something used all day, and we could always take it with us when we moved.

There's a shop on the 5th floor (I think) of Plaza Singapura that has top end faucets and bath fixtures, and also on the B1 level of Park Mall. I ended up with two lovely Grohe faucets from a showroom on Mohammad Sultan. The are fairly basic, which kept the price lower ~ the model with a slightly different 'architectural' handle was several hundred dollars more.

At the time I was looking, I didn't like all that IKEA offered, but there selection has gotten much better and I think like the cabinets, there is a 10 year guarantee. The places along Jalan Besar cary $10 faucets from China, so like most things in Sinagapore, you've got your outrageously priced top-end and the schlocky low-end stuff and not a whole lot in between.
