Common Room

Post by raden888 » Thu, 11 Feb 2010 3:26 pm

Hi all,
Tried scanning the posts here, not sure if this has been covered. I have notice that some advertisers have common rooms for rent. To me, a common room is the living room. People rent out living rooms in Singapore?

I used to be under the same illusion as well. In the local vernacular, a common room is a Bedroom that is not a Master Bedroom. Master Bedroom = toilet insuite; Common Room = Bedroom with toilet shared by all in house.

I used to be under the same illusion as well. * Great minds think alike*

Thank you SMS and Saint. I have learned something new today. I found it a bit strange to be renting a living room

It took me a while to figure it out too.

The habit of some asian students to have a friend stay in the lounge room, to split the rent by another person, whilst studying in Melbourne, did not help my understanding either!
