Buying a hair straightener in Singapore

Post by katie56 » Wed, 10 Feb 2010 6:42 am

Hi I have a question for all you lady expats out there! My husband and I will be doing a lot of traveling to Singapore. And rather than worry about my flat iron from the States overheating with a converter, I want to buy one in Singapore. Anyone know where I can find a decent one? I really don't want to spend over $60 USD. Thanks!

I personally prefer to get it from salons directly as the quality of the flat irons are better.......i got mine for S$90 and its only for dry hair.
If you want to use it for wet & dry hair it will be abt S$150 and above

I had a hard time finding good hair straighteners in shopping centres in Singapore (I purchased 2 - both didn't do a very good job). In my frustration I ended up ordering online at beautychoice and got mine delivered, but because I was impatient, I purchased one from a salon as well. Both have served me well..but I paid about SGD200 for my salon straightener.

So I would agree with elska76 to get a good one from the salon.

Honestly though, the cost of a hair wash and blowdry/straightening is pretty reasonable here so you might as well just give yourself a treat and get your hair done everyday :) I have lonnnng hair and it usually sets me back around SGD 35 -SGD 40 for a wash and blow.
