Rental Peak / Troughs

Post by smileyface » Sat, 06 Feb 2010 8:56 pm

Hi there. We have not been having much success finding a suitable place to rent and have been advised that availability of properties should improve shortly as the current peak period for influx of expats subsides (till around June when the American/British school year will begin). In turn, the landlords will not be as demanding with rent, wish list etc and will be more willing to consider offers - thats the theory anyway.

Is it worthwhile waiting for a while? Does anyone have any thoughts on which way the property market is moving?

Thanks

Not exactly true. Rentals tend to rise and fall with the economic outlook and not because of school holidays. Singapore is coming out of the recession in good form and rentals are already starting to rise again. I don't see it slacking off any time soon if the economy continues to pick up again.
