What to do over Chinese New Year

Post by london01 » Sat, 06 Feb 2010 1:22 pm

Hi,

We are looking for ideas of what to do over Chinese New Year. We have been told Singapore pretty much shuts down for 4 days.

Any suggestions of family friendly, new year activities would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Singapore pretty much shuts down for 1 or 2 days, not really 4 days. Singapore Zoo may be a good option if you have young kids? They are open everyday including Chinese New Year. Check zoo.com.sg. I will suppose since the Jurong Bird Park belongs to the same group they will be open too? Or how about Sentosa? Part of the IR is open.

Just saw over yesterday's papers on places to visit over Chinese New Year in Singapore here. May want to check out "The Sunday Times" published yesterday.

The zoo idea is great. And there won't be a huge crowd like on normal days.

if your kids are of that age and like indoor playgrounds, you could try "peek-a-boo" at kallang leisure centre...they are new and have advertised as being open during CNY.

:-)
