That's why it can be better (and safer for your hair) to go to someone who has a lot of Caucasian customers - which unfortunately can mean a higher price tag.
I sometimes go to the Kimage hair school (when I'm feeling a bit strapped for cash) because it is really cheap, but I often end up having to have a good cut a few weeks later because the ends are too dry - fortunately hair grows quicker in the tropics so it's not too bad if you have to go shorter than you usually would
