PR application for Entrepass holder

Post by MiniMuppet » Sat, 30 Jan 2010 2:21 pm

Hi all,

I am currently an entrepass holder living in Singapore and I am planning to apply for PR. I have heard rumours that ICA is more strict on applicants without 'regular empoyment". I do not know if this is true or not though, hence writing this email.

I have lived continously in Singapore for 11 years (2 years EP and 9 years Entrepass). I am below 40 years old and hold a university degree. I am also a member of a prestigous professional organisation. My business is small and I only have one employee (a Singaporean).

I assume my annual income will be a factor here, but I believe this should be a strength as it is higher than average (having a progressively higher taxable income going from $200K to $350K p.a over the last 3 years of assessment).

Are there anyone else here who has gone from entrepass to PR? Any experiences to share?

Cheers!

I got it that way two years ago. Took longer than for my husband (we've applied separately), who works for a well known research institute. I have been waiting for a reply 4 months. There were no problems with the application itself; they did not require any additional documents nor called me to their office.
Yet, it was some time ago and I've read that recently PR applications are reviewed more strictly. Still, it may not be the case with you, so good luck :)

I'm an Entrepass type that went to PR and I'd say that with a 9 year track record you will be a shoe in. I got mine after about 2.5 years, and I planned for it.

a) I always earned enough to compute corporate tax, even though I got relief.
b) I always paid realistic sums as salary so that when I did get PR, it would show strong CPF contributions.
