Housing packages

Post by macaroonie » Fri, 29 Jan 2010 11:52 am

I'm curious to know how many of us get a housing package/allowance and how much?

Knock on wood, yes we still do but I would rather not disclose the amount.

Snap with Road Not Taken. Yes. Because we negotiated. How much. Sorry, even MI6 couldn't get that out of me.

Maybe if you could tell us what you are really asking we might be able to give you a more substantial answer to your question?

Are you Singaporean as that's the type of question they would ask!

I know people with no package at all and others that have $25K per month for housing plus all the services included (like air/con, utilities, gardeners, pool, pest control, etc...). The range is that wide or wider. What you should try to find out is what others with similar positions & experience have and start from there.

You would need to know much more to make any sense out of this. Position, company, 1st or subsequent contract, sometimes even country of origin... many many things.

Nope, nada. Though none of our friends in the same industry have an allowance.

We were given the option but took cash instead that way should you move jobs you don't loose your house.
