There are lots of landed property in Singapore and each in their own location is nice for a young family. Singapore is a very safe country if that is what you are worrying about.
I think you need to consider a number of other things when you are making this decision?
Where are you/hubby is working? Do you have a car? How much can you afford to pay in rent? Where do the kids go to school? I think these answers will dictate which is a nice area for a landed property in Singapore. We live in a landed at D5 and know of many that lives in landed in D11. Consider public transport if you need them or traffic jams too.
