Usually shipping companies do not advertise that they are for sale. They are worried about having competitors steal their customers and lower the price they can get for the business.

Normally trusted brokers or middle men are used to find out about interest in the market for their companies.

Alternatively you could look for individual ships as they do come up for sale more visibly. But then you may need to do some ground work to establish a business around it.

Try looking at journals like Trade Winds or Lloyd's List.
