white embarkation card staying duration.

Post by deocharlesc » Wed, 20 Jan 2010 7:05 pm

hi,

I am malaysian. I have a question regarding staying in singapore. I worked in singapore from May 2008 to November 2009 as a security officer, when I resigned and left singapore after surrendering special pass.. I came back again the next day from johor, I am GIVEN 30 DAYS visitor pass. Within that 30 days I found another job as computer technician, my application for work permit was successful but within 3 weeks, the company face unusual difficulty and has to reduce worker, my work permit was also canceled. So after 7 days staying with special pass, I make a trip to Johor.. surrendered my special pass and come back again after one day from Johor.

This time I am ONLY GIVEN 1 day visitor pass.. as stated in the ICA system and granted on the white embarkation card. To my surprise, I didnt expect that I have to leave my belongings in 24hours. So I pack up my things and go back to my hometown the next day. 80% of my items are still in Singapore friends' house.

May I know how long should I stay in malaysia before they are able to give me more than 7 days to stay? I wish at least they could give me a longer period to settle down and find a job. It is hard to leave my belongings and pay for a room rent that I am not living in. My contract hasn't finish.

Thanks and appreciate useful advice.

that's the golden question no one can answer. otherwise the immigration system will be open to abuse. you best bet is to explain your situation with the immigration officer at woodland/tuas.

This is an SOP for Malaysian workers guideline. I believe you are under WP pass. Come back again after a month. You should be able to get a 14 days SVP. Your passport frequencies to SG is a major factor.
