We? Fortunately, WE have never met (thank goodness for some small favour). Or are you using the "Royal We" because you all still need to worship the queen? Putting on airs here won't get you anywhere, I'm afraid. Especially considering the sad state of your typing/spelling abilities.

You wrote you came from "sydney" (small town?). Not Sydney, AU. So that could have conceivably meant any one of the following:
Sydney, NSW, Australia
Sydney, FL, U.S.
Sydney, ND, U.S.
Sydney, NS, Canada
Sydney, South Africa
Sydney Vanuatu

So maybe you should be a little more specific. We have lots of South Africans, Yank, Canucks as well as Ozzies here.

She probably mouthed off the the Receptionist like she's doing here. Course local receptionists don't play like we do.

It depends on what vaccinations you get at what time... if they bundle them (5 in 1 for example) it can be about $400 for the jab + consultation. That's why I linked to that original thread... one of the posters knew which vaccination was coming up from her international clinic and went to a local one. I've never known any different (vaccinations being covered in the US/UK) so was familiar with the cost - but if you move here and are due for a big round of injections I think it would be a shock.

hi,

some advice - the kinderclinic at PP is particularly expensive. near the post office (outside of PP) and closer to the NTUC there, you can get your injections at the local polyclinic. it costs about a third of the fees, but ask them upfront and they will let you know the costs before you have the injections.

health care in singapore is really affordable, but there is a huge markup on vaccinations for children at some of the 'peadiatric' clinics - of which kinderclinic is one. You don't need a peaditrician to administer a vaccination, one of the polyclinics will do and you will save some $$ in the meantime.

vaccinations in australia are subsidised and in fact free in most instances, but you also don't need to pay the huge $$$ charged by some clinics in singapore either.

i'm sorry your somewhat innocent question got hijacked.

Considering baby immunisation is free in Australia, it is expensive here.

Which ones did you have? I used to take my son to Thomson medical centre but i found a cheaper local HDB GP who provides the same paeds immunisations. Just need to shop around.

Well, that was helpful.

In the short two years we've been here, along with the other seven we have been traveling here, the money does sound a bit much.

Back in Australia, full on ADULT (again, we are CFBC) round of vaccs can cost about $AUD1100, however that includes Jap E., which is a VERY expensive vaccine.

Here, for full on Adult is about $SGD300, including Jap.E. [NOTE: I will double check this once we move places - the relevant invoices are boxed up so I cannot totally confirm the amount]

Sounds like the OP had a bit of a problem with where they went?

I'd agree with the posters about an HDB or NTUC Polyclinic. Just give them a call, tell them how old your child is and they'll let you know the cost. I took my daughter for her final Hep vaccination when we got here and it was a third of what I would have had to pay in the US. Shop around!
