I don't know about the rest DNA etc...that is mental such extreme measures just for a child to attend school with somewhere else...
DNA is extreme and not required if your child has your last name on the birth certificate! A signed letter from the father will be enough, maybe endorsed by the solicitor to make it legal. or the solicitor may draw up a legal document for him to sign.
Though i would believe only the fathers consent in writing will do. Ask your solicitor, no need to waste money if you can get away with just a letter from the father!
Not sure which country you are from or how much travelling you have done, but from my own experience in Countries like mainland China you must be very very careful if you have a daughter, kidnappings are very common, becuase of a shortage of women. So kids are taken while young and grow up in a family until they reach the age of marriage. To carry on the blood line, it is very well organised crime and works on supply and demand.
Years ago all the female born children were killed, because they couldn't be expected to provide for a family in the outer areas of the Cities.
All children are on the conveyer belt system and only those that have the money can pay the bribes to have a normal delivery. Though you are moving to Singapore I take it, without knowing where you are going it is not easy to give any advice.
Malaysia for example does have very high crime rates, so you need to know in advance about possible risky areas before going. And yes it may only happen to one in 10k or more....
But my guess is that it will happen to those that are not aware of the risks, even Singapore is not safe if you put your trust in the normal belief that it is.
Crimes from Singaporeans maybe very very low, but with 1 million expats from all countries, some 3rd world Countries or poverty areas around the world, you have to be on guard not to be so naïve.
i recall a time when i landed in Copenhagen airport, and had 2 bags of duty frees, I was quite stressed out and needed to talk with reception. Placing the bags down between my legs, thinking they was safe, was a mistake. Obviously I had already been picked out has a victim because of my stressed state, the bags were taken from between my legs without me seeing anything.
Life can be like that!
