property Listings

OK I know that this is a dumb question but what does 3+1, 2+1 etc mean? Where I come from that would be the number of bedrooms + the number of bathrooms. I’m sure that every single condo listed doesn’t only have one bathroom. I thinking that it might be maid quarters but I’m not sure.

Also is there a way to filter for stuff that is close to MRT stations?

X+1[+Y]

where X is the number of normal bedrooms (one of them may or may not be a master bedroom)
+1 signifying common area (may or may not have an actual living room apart from the kitchen)
and the optional Y is a smaller room; could be a study, extra storage or maid's room.

Number of bathrooms will have to be explicitly stated/asked for

About knowing transport availability, ask for the street address and look it up in the numerous online maps available (can't give them save for Google since our host is a real property firm; that'll conflict of interest).

Please note, some people will count the +1 into X which pisses people off during viewing. Also, those posting on the numerous boards may just be agents themselves which HAVEN'T actually seen the units (so even if you ask, they can't tell you much). Some also just post enticing posts only to do a bait-and-switch when you do call or set up a viewing. Ditto for the rent advertised.

And no, there isn't much tenant protection laws/mechanisms in place so just be street smart when house hunting.
