wine and dine and party in Singapore

Post by ludivinem » Thu, 14 Jan 2010 6:18 am

Hi,

I lived in Singapore from 1999-2005 and am onmy returning this year on our way to Thailand with my hubby.

I wonder whether Singapore has changed a lot and am also excited to go out and enjoy the nightlife.

5 years ago we used to enjoy Insomnia @Chijmes on wednesday nights and also the New Asia bar and Indochine(do i remember well?) on Orchard Road.

We're also longing for good sushi and chinese food as here in Europe it's verrrry expensive and u absolutely don't get value for money.

Also your other favorite places to try out the local dishes (chilli crab, steam boat etc)

Thanks!!

Ludivine

For chili crab pepper on the cheap side (and good) Newton Circus Food centre and Long Beach for the more expensive and very yummy treat of seafood.

hi ludivinem

Try The Pump Room at Clarke Quay if you like Insomnia. I used to go to Insomnia previously too! hehe

sushi place - if you would like to stuff yourself silly with good jap food, try Ikoi at Miramar Hotel. Please book way in advance!

Chinese food I did not get when I was in Europe was good dumplings which you can get from Ding Tai Fung or Crystal Jade. They have many branches in Singapore.

Can't miss out Singapore's famous Hainanese Chicken Rice at maxwell food centre. Its call Tian Tian, be prepared for a long wait. But the wait is worth it!

have fun and welcome back to singapore!

Hi Ludivinem,

Demsey Hill can serve up plenty of selection of food and especially wine.. You should love the place both day and night!

Cheers

If you guys want good wine and dine experience with awesome ambience you can visit il lido at sentosa golf club. The point about the place is the great view! You can see the sea and the golf course there.

Been there once with my boyfriend for dinner. However I would prefer to go in the day because the view of the sea and the golf course is much clearer..but then again, it's more cooling at night la..
