Planning our next holiday, have never visited any of the above so which one would be the one to go for?
1. Wife hates boat ride but will put up with a short one.
2. Traveling with a 3 1/2 year old.
3. Just want to veg out
Anyone has any pros and cons traveling from Singapore?

I have just came back from Mauritius. Direct flight is about 7 hours. It is really hot now, but rains as well. Generally nice place, specially in touristic areas. Beautiful ocean )) Super clear water )) You can get really nice villas there, if you just wanna chill. It's tranquil.

Of the three, I have only been to Maldives. I would definitely recommend that you go now before it is underwater and that you leave your toddler at home so you can have a proper vacation. The flight times are a b*tch, but so are the other westward destinations you listed.

We going to the Seychelles in May and the flight going is appro 6 hours and Air Seychelles is the only direct one and leaves Singapore on Wednesday only. There are only on direct flight to Singapore and leaves the Seychelles on A Monday.
If You thinking about going later in the year I can let you know what it was like once we back.
Cheers

These are the same 3 places that I've been considering as well. My brother was recently in Mauritius and says that unless you're in a resort constantly it's unpleasant and unfriendly ..but then again, he's a cheap-skate traveller so maybe sees another side of things at the best of times....... But Mr P what's the Pines?

Thanks everyone for that looks like its the Hilton in the Maldives, the Hilton honors card gives us the upgrades, and theres no need to go on a boat apart from the sea plane.

Good choice--we spent the last two Christmases in the Maldives with our 6 year old and loved it.
