Any cheap craft shops - a 5 year old party in Singapore!!!

Post by 184jones » Tue, 12 Jan 2010 10:35 pm

Having just moved to Singapore from Perth, I have been astounded by the level of "party" entertainment provided for kids birthday parties. Many have professional party organisers in or locations fully catered for and having looked into it, I cant believe the costs!!!
My previous experiences have been a pool party and sling a few sausages on the BBQ!!!
However, am not going to go down the route and start spending small fortunes on a couple of hours. Instead have planned to do a birthday tea, a treasure hunt, craft activity, traditional games, cake and home!!!
Anyone got any good cheap places to buy craft supplies ( I have tried spotlight) or even online sites in Singapore?

Cheap, as in any item for 2 bucks cheap --> Daiso
Still Cheap --> your friendly neighborhood general store. e.g. there's a party supply store on Holland Village on the strip of shops where holland road, holland avenue and ulu pandan road intersect.

...and some imagination

Bugis area has a lot of party craft things. Also Turf City has a store outside Giant where there are party supplies.

Check out Rocher Center if you want wholesale party supplies. Yeo GM Trading - it is a fantastic find. Also try Berry Cherry Party and Gift Suppy Rochor Centre - #01-606. I was blown away - it is literally a wholesaler for all the stuff you see in goody bags. (Rochor Centre is very close to Sim Lim Square). Also check out Middle Street for additional party supply shops.
