1. Fun With Indoor Gardening

Indoor gardening helps us beautify our homes and bring greenery into our living spaces. However, the majority of us live in highrise apartments where more often than not, sunlight is limited. Growing plants indoors can be a real challenge and can lead to frustration. Indoor gardening can be fun and rewarding if homeowners know the pitfalls to avoid. This workshop will address the challenges in growing plants indoors and provide tips on how participants can make their indoor gardening project a joyful one. There will be hands-on activities to further aid participants in learning.

Pre-registration is required.

2. Learn About Perennial Leafy Vegetables

You may be familiar with leafy vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, Chinese kale and Chinese spinach. These are greens that need to be re-grown once they have been harvested.

But do you know that there is a group of perennial, ‘cut-and-come-again’ leafy vegetable plants? These produce leaves that can be harvested over a longer period of time, without the need to re-grow them.

Join us in this guided tour of the perennial vegetables showcase in HortPark’s Kampong Daze. You will learn what they are, and how to grow and cook them!

3. All About Edible Plants (A Guided Tour)

Suitable for children in K1 – P6 levels.

4. From Garden To Kitchen

Ever thought of growing your own ingredients for cooking? This workshop teaches participants on the suitable herbs and spices that can be grown here such as Laksa leaves, Mint, Coriander, Ginger, etc. Among other things, it covers tips on propagation, watering and lighting conditions. Participants will have a greater appreciation of how common culinary ingredients are grown and harvested from the garden to the kitchen.
