Cheated by Landlord

Post by sg_expats » Sun, 03 Jan 2010 2:09 pm

All Expats,

My lanlord is trying to cheat me. They have created lot of trouble during my tenure also. I have already handed back the apartment to lanlord but they have not returned my deposit till now. There was not a single problem at the time of handed back the apartment while now they are creating a lot trouble for me and they want to deduct a big chunk from my security deposit.

However the landord's Agent is also trying to conveience them to return my deposit because there is no problem in the apartment (Except 3 fused bulb). But they are not listening her also.

Please advice me what should I do in this situation.

Can I black list that landlord in this forum to warn all expats?

No you cannot blacklist her in the forum. We only know your side of the story. I would suggest that you go to the SCT (Small Claims Tribunal and file a claim there (Apollo Building next the the MOM). As far as the landlord creating trouble, that is a matter of perception. We don't know what kind of tenant you are do we? There are usually two sides to every story aren't there? You wouldn't want to be challenged in court for liable or slander would you?
