moving to Singapore

Post by laru » Wed, 30 Dec 2009 12:16 am

Hi all,
I am spanish girl moving to Singapore in 3 weeks. I will work as a research fellow at IMCB, Biopolis Dr.
I've never been to Singapore before and have no idea about the best places to live, where to search for flats and so on...
Any contribution will be very helpful.
Thanks in advanced!!
L

Hi,
as durain pointed out, this quite a common question and there are lot of discussions about it.

Btw I think it depends also on the budget you have for the rental...
I'm italian and have been living here for 1 year, I can get u some general feedback if u want, just drop a line...

Hi Adione,
thanks for your reply. Sure I'm interested in your general feedback, as you can see I'm quite lost...
The budget for the rental would be up to 3500 S$, any ideas???
Thanks again and happy 2010!!!

look in your sent folder, you will see the message there if they have read the message. It stays in your outbox until the recipient reads it, then it's transferred to the sent folder. - moderator

this is actually a real estate site, so best place to start looking is this site.

To get your started with your budget you could go for example:

http://www.singaporeexpats.com/singapor ... dences.htm

Which is brand new, and walking distance to you work. And likely to have

Or:
http://www.singaporeexpats.com/singapor ... -oasis.htm

a 4 MRT stops away from you work, but no changes required, so it's less than 10 mins in train. A bit older, but you can get a bigger place for the same money.

But it really depends what you need, what preferences you have.

You may have inadvertently done something that I do all to often and really get aggravated at myself for. I will type a long message and then preview it and then forget It's a preview and then go back to the forum and lose the whole thing and don't realize it. If you use the preview button, you still have to scroll back down to hit the send/submit button else you will delete it.
