anyone else new to tanglin trust jan 2010?

Post by mum1706 » Tue, 29 Dec 2009 7:28 pm

hi,

we have just moved here from london and my kids are joining tanglin in nursery and year 2. they were both in small private schools where the mums all knew each other so i guess this will be a big adjustment for all of us.

am hoping its not too difficult to settle in and meet other mums?
would love to hear from anyone in the school or new to the school

xx

Hi there,

I am a mum of a nursery child at Tanglin. It shouldn't be too hard to get to know other mums, as each class has a "Class Mum" who organsises events for the children and the mums . However, you might not get to meet many mums at dropping off or picking up times, as a lot of children get the school buses. You can also get the opportunity to help out in school, for example with cookery and library sessions, where you might meet other parents.

please feel free to PM me, if you would like, as you might find your youngest child is entering the class my boy is in.

Im still in London, but will be moving in July with my year 2, year 5, and year 6 children (as of Sept 2010) to Tanglin School. Hopefully, you'll have room for one more new Mum on your 'new friends' list. Its easy for the husbands (instant office mates), and the children...but probably hardest on the mothers to build a new network. Hope it wont be too difficult. Maybe I can get a few tips from you by the time I arrive...
