Advice on moving to Singapoere

I am going to be venturing eastwards from the UK to Singapore in the next few months and would be grateful for any advice or experiences that can be offered.

I am currently employed as an Senior Technical IT Consultant in the UK with 16 years experience in the industry.

I want to live in Singapore for approximately one year, looking to find both a property to either buy or rent, while at the same time gain some from of employment.

Can anyone offer any advice on the best way of approaching this?

I'm still young'ish.. (34 *cough*) and raring to go
