According to this my CV was just updated in a version that appeals more to Singapore HR Departments. I personally dont think its a shame using this services, as long as it still reflects your real skills. And selling myself in an interview is usually not a big issue for me
Cosmetic changes are fine and of course if it helps land you an interview, then great! As long as you can understand everything that's on your "new improvised" CV, unfortunately have heard of a few cases where there was a HUGE gap between what was represented on the CV v/s the individual's area of expertise. :(
For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the sheltered will never know.

true, but I think this is a general problem in Singapore. I have interviewed a couple of Uni students from Singapore for a fresh grad position and their CVs were so competetivly written that I thought they would do my job better than me  , even though I have a couple of years work experience. But in the interviews they were not able to hold the promises of their CVs.

I just moved to Singapore and need a good professional resume writer. What are the good ones? Anyone had experiences?

I really don't want to lose money over this and I have heard of horror stories with these resume writing folks.

Cheers!

I FIND it funny that the first post you make contains your advertising line, and adds nothing to the thread except a criticism of other posters.

You are on notice.

3 years later and i am back to this post...I have been receiving email regularly for the contacts i have.

Just a piece of advice for those who use resume writers (similar to the posts above me), resumes and cvs can only get you so far...always remember that there are the interviews and OJT that you will have to pass.

The reason why i am saying this is because although my friend managed to get some of these people the interviews they wanted in MNCs, he told me that some did not make the cut eventually because they lacked the actual experience and skills that came with the job.

Also, it would be good if you introduce yourself when emailing me, so i can refer you to my friend, and stop treating it like a favor that i am supposed to do for you.
