Big delicious portion will be at home? You can cook one whole bag of pasta for yourself?
For Italian, its largely pasta and pizza, which usually don't come in small servings. I was reading that La Strada served the best and authentic carbonara (i.e. no cream used) in Singapore. Anyone tried the food there before?

I think Modestos at Orchard Parade Hotel is the most value for money..
And you can try Alforno on East Coast Road for more delicious meal..

Cheers,

Personally, I find Alforno disappointing. I don't mind paying for good food, but I don't like paying a lot of terrible food. I had pasta there once, and was so disappointed. My friend who was with me, was not impressed either.

Had lunch in La Strada on Sunday, and its definitely the best carbonara I have in Singapore, so far. Its made the authentic way (without cream, just eggs n cheese), and you have to taste it to believe it. On the other hand, the price is not cheap. Its $30 for a pasta, and the serving is not big.
Another place I thought is not too bad (but not best, imo) is Pasta Brava near Tg Pagar. The price is not cheap either between $25-35 for a pasta, but the serving is bigger than La Strada.

try OSO at Bukit Pasoh Road. got to be one of my fave Italian rest ever. dont go Osvaldo at tanjong pagar, such a disappointment from its high end Forlino.

Hi...We like the food at Il Mondo Vecchio in Madison. However, the noise at primetime can be loud; better to go at an off-hour.
We recently tried and enjoyed Divina in Caldwell on Bloomfield Avenue. It was formerly a pizza place with a casual restaurant, but they took out the pizza area, redecorated nicely and it is now a pretty nice restaurant. I would call the food a little rustic, it's certainly no Babbo, but we enjoyed it for what it was.
I know Rosie and others like Corso 98. We haven't been there in a long time. Is it still good?

Tatsu at CHIJMES is amazing. Very pricey though, expect to pay around $100 per person.
