Just picked up an iPhone on M1...
Selected the iPhone Lite plan at $56/Month which makes the iPhone $398...
Made the payment... and was still at the counter and almost ready to leave then was told that as an EP holder I'm not eligible for a discount based on my price plan [only Citizens and I think, PRs] and I would have to pay the cost of the iPhone as if I had the $36/Month Value plan even if I signed up for the Ultimate $198 plan... meaning an additional transaction for $260 which makes the cost of the phone $658...
Now... I'd actually been in the store twice before, albeit minus correct documents, which meant I had to go back again today with the correct documents... it wasn't mentioned at either M1 store I'd been to, and it isn't mentioned on any leaflets as far as I can see... and I can't find anything online which talks about the policy...
I can't believe this is a genuine 'company policy' that M1 have... it's utterly ludicrous... I put it on my credit card so I have some recourse, but did I get done over or were the shop assistants at M1 being on a level with me?
Anyone else experienced anything even remotely similar?

No Discount iPhone on M1 for EP Holders???
I would say you have been screwed! All sales would know an EP holder would not qualify for Singapore subs, because you are not a PR or Citizen.. Though I don't know why you paid the amount asked in the first place. If you had any doubts, you shouldn't have purchased and signed the documents with the total amount of the iphone on. So you may well not have any recourse at all.
What about getting an unlocked iPhone elsewhere and then taking advantage of M1's tariff rebate offer?
I was thinking about doing that as I already own an iPhone, but in the end I figured I'm fine with just a prepaid card from Starhub (still don't get how called ID or international calls to a number of countries can be free on prepaid... but optional extras when you are on a monthly plan!?!?).

Late december I arrived in Singapore again. Singtel discontinued my pre paid sim card, so I decidecd to go for a plan with iPhone with starhub (okay, different provider but still).
By that time I only had my in-principle approval and employment contract with me. No bank account, no credit card and no physical EP yet.
There was no problem at all. I got corporate discount (because of my employer) and a 2 year contract with a free phone. No questions asked.
Seems M1 is either screwing you over or doing things others are not doing....
