Curly Kale (vegetable) in Singapore?

Post by Pepijn » Fri, 11 Dec 2009 2:25 pm

Hi all,

Weird question, and I didn't know the proper forum to post it in, so as I do like cooking for leisure, I guess this is as good a place as any ;)

Would any one know if and if so where cruly kale is for sale in Singapore? The vegetable is typically used in the nothern european cuisine (especially the only dutch dish which actually is pretty much unique, and the only thing they popped up with which is nice ;) ), but I know of indonesian recipes containing it. Also it's considered one of the healthiest veggies around, and more or less hyped in the UK and the US for it.

Google searches gave me quite some results, but all of them people asking if it is for sale, but no answers.

Pepijn (who is anticipating a lack of "boerenkool", the only thing I will miss from home ;) ).

I think I saw some kale in a Fairprice once; I'm not sure if that's any different from curly kale. Well, at least the wrapper says it's kale. You may also want to look into Cold Storage and the Marketplace as these stores tend have more variety.

Thanks, will do in about 2,5 weeks :)
There is some difference in regular and curly kale, but I will have to see and try it out ;)
