adult mandarin classes recommendation anyone?

Hello all,

We've just moved to Singapore and since I have a bit of time on my hand while I job search...I would like to learn Mandarin (from a practical/ conversational/ business perspective rather than formal/technical learning).

I understand it's quite common for people to get 1-to-1 tutoring but I prefer the social setting of a classroom....

Can anyone recommend a good mandarin class for adults?

U can try google "Chinese Chamber of Commerce"


Or u can flip thru' "The Straits Times- Classified Ads Section"
They have a lot of classes run by private schools.

Chinese Singapore Chamber of Commerce - seconded. The started course Gateway to Mandarin" is very good. Not cheap but intense and our teacher was very good - and Chinese!

A belated thanks...I indeed went ahead with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce....am reaching the end of Gateway to Mandarin Level 1. Overall, a good course! Went for the intensive option...so now just need to practise and refresh before I take level 2.
