Landlord took deposit money upon moveout

Post by MBalen » Tue, 08 Dec 2009 6:17 pm

Without notifying me, My month-to-month landlord "ransomed" some of my deposit money. He claims that it was for some of my fees which were "excessive" when I fixed his A/C unit out of my own pocket (it cost 80 SGD w/ receipt, and he says it should have been 30 SGD). What is the best avenue for me to reclaim this?

As per the rental agreement/contract , any repairs under $100 should be borne by the tenant. I serviced my aircon for 60 bucks and was never claimed from the landlord but when the aircon was unrepairable then the landlord replaced them on his own.
